Guide to Downloading and Installing VLC Media Player

VLC Media Player is one of the most used video multimedia player for Windows and Mac and here we are offering the process for downloading the VLC Media Player.

For Windows

  1. First, visit www.videolan.org in your web browser.
  2. When you enter the site, press on “Download VLC”.
  3. After the downloading the file, now it depends what browser you are using, Run, or Open may need to be selected. Otherwise, the software will automatically download, and then you have to click on install the download files.
  4. After the installation, you have to select a language that you’re comfortable with and then press Ok.
  5. Press Next to start the installation.
  6. Press Next on the licence agreement screen.
  7. Now you can choose certain components and plugins for VLC as per your wish on the “choose components” screen. Press next to complete the installation.
  8. Press Finish to complete your VLC installation.

For Mac

  1. Visit www.videolan.org in your web browser.
  2. When you enter the site, press on “Download VLC”.
  3. Choose a download location if it shows on the screen – this will allow the VLC setup to download onto your computer.
  • If the VLC file isn’t prompted for a download location, skip this step.
  1. Launch the downloaded DMG file – Visit the folder into which your browser downloads the file, then double press on the VLC DMG file. It will open your installation window.
  2. Press and drag the VLC app icon onto the “Applications” folder – The “Applications” folder will be on the right side of your System, and VLC app icon is on the left. Press to install VLC on your computer.
  3. Operate VLC- After opening the VLC, you have to double click on VLC app icon in the Applications folder, wait for the Mac to verify VLC and then press on it when prompted.
